Laptop Battery Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a laptop battery supposed to last?

This is mainly dependent on how many times you charge it and discharge it. A high quality laptop battery should be able to last you at least five years. Some of the more generic, white-label, or OEM compatible batteries typically last from two to three years.

How much is a new laptop battery going to cost me?

Plan to spend from $50 – $100 dollars for an OEM compatible battery for your laptop battery. If you get it from the original manufacturer of your laptop (Dell, Apple, Acer, Compaq, etc) plan to spend twice of what you would for an OEM battery.

How come my laptop battery is on backorder?

Most laptop batteries are shipped from China. It is not uncommon for the same distributor to supply several batteries companies in the United States. So when a battery is in high demand in the US it runs out fast. When that happens the battery company you placed your order with has to wait for a new shipment to come in before sending your battery to your house.

How long will a new laptop battery take to get to my house?

Assuming the battery is in stock it should no longer than ten business days from the time you placed your order.

How can I make my laptop battery last longer?

Take it out of your laptop when your laptop is plugged it. We have also heard that putting your battery in the freeze prolongs it’s life.

My laptop battery no longer holds a charge. Can I fix it?

More than likely no. No battery, rechargeable or otherwise, lasts forever. Every type of battery in the world has to be replaced at some point. Sorry about that :(
